Every boy is becoming a man. Who will show him how?
BEComing is a mentorship programme for boys and young men aged 13 to 25. Consistent male mentors, an honest brotherhood and a faith that gives them somewhere to stand.
- Consistent male mentors
- An honest brotherhood
- A faith to stand on
Made for more.
"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6
Life at BEComing
Tap any photo to view it larger.
A boy learns what a man is by watching men. Too many have no one to watch.
It is not a resource problem. It is a presence problem. In South Africa, most children no longer live in the same home as their biological father. For a boy, that can mean working out manhood alone, from the street, from screens, from whoever shows up.
“We are teachers, mentors, creatives, professionals, and community members who refused to accept that the next generation had to figure it out alone.”
Four ways we show up
Mentorship
Screened, trained men who commit to showing up for a boy week after week and staying for the long haul.
Community
Circles where boys are known by name, missed when they are absent, and know they belong to a brotherhood.
Performing arts and sports
Drama, music, movement and sport help boys find a voice, build discipline and learn to play as part of a team.
Faith and foundation
Faith gives a boy an anchor for identity, hope and a reason to rise.
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6
After school, the questions get bigger.
Young adults aged 18 to 25 are deciding about study, work, faith and who they are becoming. We give them a mentor, a community and a way to pour into someone younger.
Leaders don't just happen. They are formed, one life at a time.
Someone has to show up.
The gap does not close by itself. BEComing is made of everyone who chose to step in: the mentor who arrives every Saturday, the neighbour who notices, the parent who prays.
Our vision
A generation of young people who know they are seen, known and not alone.
We are building toward a South Africa where no young person, boy or girl, has to wonder if they matter.
Our mission
To bridge the gap left by absent fathers and missing mentors.
We connect young people with leaders who show up consistently and for the long haul, through mentorship, community, performing arts and sports, and faith.
What we stand for
The cycle we are breaking
One generation shapes the next. We step into this loop with people who stay.
No presence
No father, no mentor, no steady adult. The young person grows up unseen.
No identity
With no one speaking into their life, they do not know who they are or why they matter.
No direction
Without identity there is no purpose. Potential is buried and behaviour suffers.
No legacy
They become parents and leaders who were never shown how, and it starts again.
How you can stand in the gap
Businesses
Invest in the next generation of men. Release your people to mentor, sponsor a programme, or open your boardroom to boys who have never sat in one. We would welcome the opportunity to shape a partnership that suits your company.
Partner with usMentors and leaders
A boy needs a man who stays. You do not need a title or a perfect story, only your time and your honesty. We will screen, train and walk with you. All you have to do is say yes.
Become a mentorCommunity members
Fathers, uncles, mothers, teachers, neighbours and pastors: every boy has people around him who can make a difference. Open your home, share a meal, pray with us, or tell a boy about us. Be the someone.
Get in touchIt started with a refusal.
A refusal to accept that the next generation has to figure it out alone.
“We are not one person. We are not a building or a logo. We are everyone who chose to show up.”
- The mentor who arrives every time.
- The corporate that sends their team.
- The neighbour who notices.
- The professional who shares their story.
- The parent who prays.
Where the name comes from
Nobody is finished. Not the young people we walk with, and not the mentors who walk beside them. The name says that every life is still becoming.
At the centre of our name sits a cross inside the C. It reminds us who began the work and who carries it to completion.
Then. Now. BEComing.
Then
Young people grew up without a steady adult in their corner. No father at home, no mentor, no one to say you matter.
Now
Mentors show up week after week in schools, churches and homes. Circles, quiet time, camps and honest conversations for fathers.
BEComing
A generation that knows it is seen, stands on something solid, and turns around to pull up the one behind.
Be part of the next chapter
The story is still being written, and there is room in it for you.
Many doors. One journey.
Young people come in through sport, music, faith, mentorship or community. Every door leads to the same place: identity, character and courageous leadership.
The Open Book
A quiet time space with snacks on the table and a guided structure. Come, open the Word and meet with God.
Rooted and Rising
A formation journey through identity, character, purpose and what it means to become a man of substance.

Dads Talks
Honest conversations for fathers, father figures and men who carry influence in a young person's life. Not lectures. Real conversations.
Why it matters
Across South Africa, 64.5% of children have no father at home (Stats SA, 2024). Where a father is present, his presence still needs to be intentional. Where he is absent, other men can step into the gap.
Dads Talks gives men a safe place to be honest about what it costs to show up, and what the next generation needs from them.
What we talk about
- Presence. Being there when it is inconvenient.
- Responsibility. Leading a home and mentoring a young person well.
- Legacy. What you are handing down, on purpose or by accident.
- Brotherhood. Men who walk with men.

Formation Camp
Once a year. Every generation. Something permanent.
For three days, youth, fathers and mentors step out of their ordinary lives and into something intentional. Not a conference. Not a training. An encounter. The most important things that happen are not on the schedule. They happen when the right people are in the right place with enough time to be real.
The camp is for young people aged 13 to 25, their dads and father figures, trained mentors and volunteers. Sponsored places are available so no young person is turned away.
Generations together
Youth, fathers and mentors eating, laughing and being challenged side by side. The generation gap closes here.
Presence over programme
Everything exists to create genuine presence: adults who are fully there and young people who feel fully seen.
Identity formed
Three days of being asked the questions that matter. Many leave knowing for the first time who they are.
Sent out with purpose
The camp ends with a commissioning, not a closing ceremony. Everyone leaves affirmed, with an accountability partner.
How you can help
- Sponsor a camper. R1,500 covers one young person's place.
- Offer a venue. We are looking for a farm, retreat centre or outdoor facility for 50 to 150 people, with sleeping and communal space.
- Volunteer. Serve on the team for the three days.
You have something they need.
Not your title. Your presence, your time and your story. The fact that you made it through something and you are willing to say: you can too.
What mentors do
Mentors lead a small circle of 8 to 15 young people, usually meeting weekly or fortnightly, in a school, church or community space. Part conversation, part leadership, part family.
What matters most is that you keep showing up.
What we give you
- Training before you start.
- A ready structure so you are never planning alone.
- A team of mentors who walk with you.

Pray with us
Prayer is one of the most powerful gifts. Pray for the young people, the mentors and the families we walk with.
Eighteen is not the finish line.
School ends, and a lot of the structure around you ends with it. We walk with young adults aged 18 to 25 through what comes next: who you are, what you are for and who is beside you.
What this season asks
Between 18 and 25, almost everything gets decided at once. Study or work. Faith. Friendships. Who you become. Many people face it with fewer adults around them than they had at school.
You do not have to work it out alone.
What you get
- A mentor who stays. One consistent person to talk to about work, faith and the big decisions.
- People on the same road. Others your age who are building their lives on something solid.
- Formation Camp. Three days a year with youth, fathers and mentors. Open to ages 13 to 25.
- A way to pass it on. Mentor a younger person through Pass It Down.
Poured into, then pouring out
Pass It Down is how it works. University students mentor senior learners, who mentor younger learners. Everyone is being poured into and pouring out. At 18 to 25, you can stand on both sides of that.
